To feel as if one belongs; to feel as if one were in one’s home; to feel accepted – Is the definition of feeling at home. Thats exactly how I feel when my size 38’s hit those lovely dirty pavements of New York City!
This hotel is literally fulfilling all my dreams of being in a full on Mad Men cast member. Everything is immaculately on point from the flooring, the woodwork, the chain curtains, marble tiling and low dipped lighting.
As you sweep through the revolving door you are met with a polite bellboy and the most amazing smell to remind you, You have arrived!!
I already knew this hotel had a gorgeous little roof top space but I was still taken a back by the amazing views of the skyline both day and night. Its like a tiny little oasis that looks down on the hustle and bustle of the busy streets.
The room was as in keeping as the rest of this 1940’s dream house! A huge squishy cloud for a bed with the most amazing white sheets! Marble everywhere!! Beautiful silver accessories and a big fluffy white dressing gown (winning). Whilst not forgetting my new hotel room requirements from now on… GHD straighteners AND hairdryer and a direct call button to Net-a-Porter! What a genius idea!!!!
In room essentials for any New York trip (not all supplied, although I’m surprised as they have thought of everything else)! A good read for soaking in the bath (educational too – Girl Boss – Tick), excellent skin care after that very long haul flight (Ren and Caudalie are my faves – tick), a cosy bathrobe (supplied- tick) and some heels to look fabulous in (not necessarily in the room but they go great with one of my obsessions, Marble – Tick!)
Now excuse me whilst I go down to the stunning bar area, Don Draper has a drink waiting for me….
